Busch Entertainment and STV
Sponsored by Busch Entertainment's SeaWorld and Busch Gardens, Shamu TV (STV) offers classrooms nationwide a quality series on wildlife adventures, educating nearly 30 million students on a variety of environmental-related topics. Featuring a recurring cast of children and adult characters who explore wildlife and habitats around the world, STV takes viewers along as a submarine crew encounters everything from lions and sharks to music and tropical forests.
Geared toward elementary and middle school audiences, each 25-minute show is packed with environmental education -- from biology, ecology, zoology, geography, math, history to language arts. Plus with the help of Anchor Education, one more exciting subject was added to the list: Space.
Through æ's NASA work, Goddard Space Flight Center's Earth Orbiter 1 (EO1) mission scientists will be featured in an upcoming rainforest episode to discuss how space exploration helps us on Earth. By mapping and studying forests from space, EO1 and similar missions allow humankind to see (and to learn) the impact we are having on our planet and how we can work in concert with Earth's resources.
Airing in May 2001, "Rumble in the Jungle" teaches children about the rainforests throughout the world and humankind's misuse of the precious resource. Click here to learn about this episode, the entire STV season and educator support provided by Shamu TV.
