      The Learning Community Institutes at Moorpark College offer a new dimension in higher education by transforming the typical setting of textbooks, lectures and a chalkboard into a learning environment that welcomes and encourages full student participation. Four key elements make up a Learning Community Institute:

  • Courses are linked by each Institute?s common theme (health, media arts and education), providing a clear path to the fulfillment of career and higher education goals;

  • Students move together as a group in a two-year learning program, providing an atmosphere of collaboration and exchange;

  • Classroom education is enriched with hands-on knowledge through internships and job shadowing;

  • General education classes are "flavored" by the students? professional-career theme, providing classes enhanced for a specific Institute.

      To capture a sense of adventure and commitment to learning, Anchor Education created an "Extreme Learning" campaign for the institutes. Our objective was to provide the leadership team with a theme that would capture the excitement of 21st Century education which could be shared by learning institutes across the nation.

      Anchor Education turned to Barbara Brown Marketing and Design of Ventura, Calif., for the campaign's visual image, logo and graphic design.
